Process for producing free flowing, dust-free agglomerates for profile extrusion and injection molding.
Fibers, the desired matrix polymer, and (if necessary) further additives are fed in
a heating mixer for the production of free-flowing, dust-free agglomerates. The
polymer is transferred into the melt state by the heat of the jacket heating and the
friction caused by suitable fiber-conserving mixing elements (see figure in the center)
and thus wets out the fibers. After transfer of the mixture to a cooling mixer
(see left figure) the injection moldable or extrudable agglomerate is formed there
during the cooling phase (see right figure).
